Ditch the Debt
During the Covid 19 pandemic, we all experienced a number of hardships and did what we had to do in order to endure and persevere. UCFL is no exception! We walked through the grief of missing our people and reducing the ways in which we came together for the safety and well-being of all. AND…we did an amazing job staying safe, keeping the doors open, and being creative in our ways of maintaining connection. We provided Sunday services, special services, and consistent mid-week classes. Now, on the other side of all that we are generating new life energy, families are increasing, the number of first-time visitors is increasing, we are filling our volunteer needs, enjoying community events …even just holding hands during the “Peace Song”….and we are experiencing some residual effects of the pandemic financially.
As you can probably imagine, with the reduction in our ability to come together and the reduction in the Sunday attendance during Covid, our financial contributions also were reduced. At the annual meeting, the membership voted to approve a realistic budget in an endemic time, that budget reflects a $107K increase over our 2022 budget. And yet, regular giving has stayed flat. In order to be successful in meeting that budget, we need to Dump Our Debt. The Board of Trustees is asking for your support in helping to raise $20K to pay off the accumulation of debt incurred over three years of the pandemic and for our current community to pause and evaluate the level of financial support you are currently giving. Does it reflect where we were or where we are going? We are in a new year, doing so well, and we have big plans to fully bring UCFL into the next highest expression of who we say we are! Thank you in advance for your support.
