ABOUT THIS CLASS

In this small-group class setting, we will be discussing author Kabat-Zinn’s life-changing concepts from this classic book. Join us for high-energy group meditation, positive energy, stimulating discussions, and group interactions. Come and be prepared to have fun, as well as learn new and deeper concepts for daily living.

This class is limited to 12 participants, so grab your seat early!

ABOUT THE BOOK

The book by Jon Kabat-Zinn entitled: “Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness is a comprehensive book with sections. We will be addressing the first two sections of the book:

1) Paying Attention (different options on meditation), and

2) The Paradigm: A New Way of Thinking about Health and Illness.

The class will be 6-7 weeks long. Meeting Tuesdays at 6pm. Bring your dinner, if you are coming straight from work. The classes will be about 1.5 hours in length, with a break in between. We will be in person, socially distanced, in Hightower Hall.

ABOUT JOY

Joy Hartzler Wolff is an RN of 40 plus years with a wide variety of medical and teaching experiences. Most recently she became an Integrative Wellness Coach, to assist people in achieving their optimal wellness, and/or to work with challenges they have with their health or the health care system. She incorporates Reiki, healing touch, traditional western medicine, as well as alternative eastern choices, as she works with her clients.

Joy has taught multiple classes that include meditation, spiritual growth, creativity unblocking, and happiness choices. One of Joy’s desires is to help people achieve optimal joy, peace, and mindfulness by living in the NOW. Her company is called: emPower People, LLC. Joy is volunteering her time to CCU, but asks that a donation be made to CCU, in lieu of payment for the class.

Teaching classes at CCU fits into Joy’s mission statement of Bringing Health and Wholeness through finding Your Truth.
